What isPocketApps™? How can I access PocketApps™?"PocketApps™" is an Aircel mobile application store from where mobile users can buy various types of application.Mobile users can access PocketApps™ store using multiple access channels like GPRS, WAP and SMS. These applications are available for a wide variety of makes and models of mobile phones.

What all services do PocketApps™ provide?PocketApps provides mobile users the following services: Browse, discover, download and re-download applications, Store Subscription and Un-subscription operations, Search Engine with advance features and My Profile Page.

Is PocketApps™ available to all prepaid and postpaid mobile users of Aircel?Yes, PocketApps is available to all Aircel prepaid and postpaid users

What types of subscription are available in PocketApps™?Presently there are two types of subscriptions available - Daily and Weekly.

How can I subscribe to PocketApps™?Once you click on the download button of an application you wish to download, PocketApps will direct you to a subscription page with an option to choose the subscription plan i.e. Daily or Weekly. Choose the plan and click on subscribe button, to subscribe to PocketApps. You must accept the terms of use to be able to subscribe. The charges would be debited to your prepaid balance or charged to your postpaid bill.

What is the validity of my subscription and how can I renew it?Validity of subscription for daily subscriptions is till 23:59 hours of the same day i.e. if the customer has subscribed to daily services at 15:00 hours, then his/her subscription will expire at 23:59 hours. Validity of subscription for Weekly subscription is till 23:59 hours on the 7th day i.e. if a customer subscribes to PocketApps on Tuesday at 10:00 hours, then his/her subscription shall expire the next Monday at 23:59 hours. After the subscription expires PocketApps will automatically attempt to renew the subscription (once every day for three days from the date of expiry of subscription). If the auto subscription is successful then the subscription charges shall be deducted from the user’s prepaid account and an SMS shall be sent to the user informing him/her of the same. For post paid accounts, the subscription charge will be added to the user’s bill and an SMS confirming the same shall be send to the user.

How many categories of applications are present in PocketApps™?• There are 7 categories of applications available in PocketApps. They are Everyday Convenience, Education & Career, Finance, Health & living, Games, Music & Fun and Social Networking..

Will all the applications work on my mobile phone?• Yes all application listed while browsing PocketApps will work on your mobile phone.

Is there an additional cost for downloading an application apart from Subscribing to PocketApps™?PocketApps has two types of application on board, Free and Paid. If you want to download free application, no additional cost is charged apart from PocketApps subscription charges, however if you want to download any paid application, you will be charged as per the price listed against each application. Note: If you are not a PI card user, you would be charged for the data usage as applicable.

I downloaded the application but I cannot install it. What do I do?If for some reason the installation was not successful, you should try to re-download the application from My Profile page. If the issue persists, please contact Aircel Customer Care center for further support.

Is the application in any way tied to my SIM? What happens if I change my SIM?No, the application is not tied with any SIM. If you change the SIM the application will work the way it should. However there are certain applications which need GPRS/ WAP access to get the updated information. e.g. HT m Paper. This is a news paper application and to get the updated news, Phone and the number should have activated GPRS/WAP facility.

What will happen if I use another SIM Provided by Aircel? Will the application work.• Yes, the application will work if you change the SIM provided by Aircel but the number should have GPRS, WAP facility activated for online applications e.g. HT m Paper. This is a news paper application and to get the updated news, Phone and the number should have GPRS, WAP facility activated.

I have downloaded & installed an application on my memory card. What will happen if I remove and insert the same memory card to another phone with Aircel SIM? Will the application work? Will it work on a mobile with a SIM from another operator?• Yes, the application will work if the memory card is inserted in any other phone, provided the phone is of same configuration. There might be some application which may not work if the downloaded application is not compatible with the phone of different configuration. Yes, the application will work on the mobile phone if the SIM used is from other operator is used, provided the phone and the number has GPRS or WAP facility activated.

Where can I see the status of my subscription?The status of your subscription can be seen on the My Profile page of PocketApps.

Do I have to subscribe again to re-download an application that I have purchased sometime backIf an application purchased is less than 30 days old then you do not have to purchase it again. You can re-download the application from My Profile page. However if it is more than 30 days, then you have to subscribe to PocketApps to re-download the application and re-buy in case of paid apps.

Will I get a reminder before I am charged again for subscription?No, you will not get any reminder for auto renewals of subscription however once the renewals is done you will be sent a confirmation message on your phone.

How do I un-subscribe from PocketApps™?To unsubscribe from PocketApps, you need to go to My Profile page and click on the Unsubscribe link. You can also send an SMS to the TRAI short code with the text “UNSUB PA” to unsubscribe from PocketApps. Also you may dial the short code 155223 for unsubscription.

I have a cell phone with Dual SIM card facility. Both the SIM are of Aircel. Will the PocketApps™ application work on both the SIM or will it work with the SIM which was / is subscribed to PocketApps™.Yes, PocketApps will work with both the SIMs of Aircel.

I saw an application on the PocketApps™ a few days back and now I am not able to see it. Where can I find that application?When an application is removed or expired from PocketApps you will not be able to locate in PocketApps. If you have downloaded the application in the last 30 days then you will see that application under My Profile tab.

I have a cell phone with Dual SIM Card Facility; one is from Aircel and the other is from some other operator. Will the application work if I switch to other service provider?Yes the application downloaded from PocketApps will work with other operators SIM provided GPRS or WAP facility is activated on the other Operator’s SIM.

Do PocketApps™ support National & International roaming?Yes, PocketApps can be accessed from any location, nationally or internationally. PocketApps portal can be accessed while roaming if the user has data roaming enabled. It also depends on whether Aircel has a roaming agreement with one of the operators in that location.

What is SMS Apps and what are the charges for each SMS? Will the charges for SMS differ if User is on roaming nationally or internationally?SMS Apps are those Apps with which customers can get information by sending message to a predefined number (PA – 52777). Once the mobile user sends text message to PocketApps, PocketApps responds with the list of applications. The user can respond back with the code assigned to the Application. Once PocketApps receives the request, system auto generates the information and replies back with the detail requested. Charges as given in the SMS Application Details shall be charged for every SMS sent to PocketApps. .

What happens if my mobile died while download was in progress? What should I do?Whenever you purchase an application, PocketApps system automatically stores the application in My Profile page. If for any reason mobile dies while downloading an application you can go to My Profile page and reinitiate the download for which no additional amount will be charged to you.

I want to know the size and the cost of an application before I download. Where do I see it?The Price of an application is displayed against each application on the list page and on the application detail page. Once you click on the application you wish to download, the size and price of an application can be seen just beside the download button on the detail page.

I deleted an application by mistake. Can I re-download? Do I have to pay again?Yes, you can re-download the deleted application provided the application which got deleted is not more than 30 days old since the date of purchase. This can be re-downloaded by going to My Profile page. You would not be charged to download the application again within 30 days of download.

Do I have to download the application on my mobile? Can I not use them without downloading?Yes, you will have to download an application on your mobile phone.

How do I know the list of applications I have purchased?• You can view all your purchased applications under My Profile Page.

Will I be charged separately for GPRS connectivity?• Data charges for app download will include the 10paise/10kb charge for downloading apps for non-PI users. With PI card, the data charges will not be applicable additionally.

What are “Showcase Apps”?Showcase Apps are those apps which have been selected based on uniqueness, pleasant user experience, and feedback from Aircel Consumer Clinics. This is the default landing page of PocketApps.

What are “Top Apps”?Top Apps are those applications which are based on the highest number of downloads recorded in PocketApps. Top Free Apps would be displayed by default with a link to view the Tops Paid Apps under Top Apps Category..

How can I find “New Apps” on PocketApps™?All the New Applications uploaded on PocketApps are displayed under New Apps category. New Apps can be viewed by clicking on the New Apps icon on the Phone.

How can I search for an App I need?Search Engine helps the mobile user to search for various applications listed on PocketApps. This search option is available on all pages of PocketApps. There are two ways to search for an application.
1. Free Text Search : Search using Keywords
2. Advance Search : Search using Keywords and options of apps pricing and category . -
What happens if I lose my handset or my handset gets damaged? Do I need to purchase applications again for which I’ve already paid a one-time download fee?•If you have lost your handset and if the number re-issued to you is same as before, then, you can re-download all the applications which are within the 30 days period from the day of purchase, provided the handset make & model is the same. However if the number issued to you is different or if the make & model of the phone is different, then in that case you will have to subscribe to PocketApps first and purchase the application again.
• In case of damaged handset you can only re-download those applications which are within the 30 days period from the day of purchase provided the make and model of the phone is same. This application will be listed under My Profile page in PocketApps. -
If I download the applications on a particular handset and in future if I change my handset, do I need to download all the applications again?Yes, the user will have to purchase and download again if the make & model is not same.

How can I pay for subscribing to PocketApps™ Store?There are two types of subscription available in PocketApps 1. Daily 2. Weekly. How do I pay for downloading applications from PocketApps™?When user attempts to download paid applications from PocketApps, the price of an application gets deducted automatically from user account and at the same time a confirmation SMS is triggered to USER number stating the deduction of the charges.

Is there any cap on the number of applications I can download in a given day?No, there is no Cap for downloading applications from PocketApps. User can download as many applications user wishes to.

Under which header in the bill will the charges of downloaded applications appear?The charges for downloads and subscription to PocketApps™ will be under the VAS usage charges section of your bill.

I tried to download an application. The process started but froze during download. How do I know that I’ve been charged or not?• Whenever USER gets charged for downloading any paid application, an SMS is sent to user phone confirming the same.

What is SMS Apps and what are the charges for each SMS? Will the charges for SMS differ if User is on roaming nationally or internationally?Whenever make & model detection error message is displayed on the screen, please choose the “Make of the phone” and click on PROCEED Button and then choose model number from the drop down list and click on PROCEED. Once you click on the PROCEED button you will be taken to the home page of PocketApps, i.e. Showcase Apps.

What are PocketApps SMS Apps?PocketApps SMS Apps are applications that provide Aircel subscribers a number of services using SMS..

How can I use these SMS apps?Any Aircel subscriber can access the PocketApps SMS Apps through the Aircel short code 52777 from anywhere in India. Any Aircel customer can use SMS apps without having GPRS or WAP activated on the SIM or phone. These services are compatible with all handsets with texting capability.

Is there any Registration required to access the PocketApps SMS Apps?No, any Aircel subscriber can access the PocketApps SMS Apps by sending an SMS to 52777.

Do I need to have GPRS connection to access the PocketApps SMS Apps?No, PocketApps SMS apps is accessible using SMS.

Do I need to download any application to be able to use the SMS applications?No, only messaging capability of handset is required.

How do I request for a specific service?The typical method to request for any SMS application is to type the keyword which uniquely identifies the SMS application, provide a single space and follow it with parameters or values as per format. E.g. To calculate EMI type EMI
[Principal] [Years] [rate of interest], so if you want to calculate EMI payable for Rs.1 lakh for 15 yrs @ 10% interest, simply type EMI 100000 15 10 and SMS to 52777 -
What is the size of the response I would receive?Ideally the response would be less than 160 characters, but in cases where the response is more than 160 characters, it would be part of the second SMS.

Is there any cap on the number of SMS requests I can send on any given day?No there is no Cap on the number of SMS requests sent to PocketApps. .

Can I request for another application before the response of previous application request is received?Yes, all SMS requests are independent of each other. So multiple requests can be easily handled.
Troubleshooting SMS Apps

What if I use the wrong keyword?Each SMS application has a unique keyword to identify that service application. If the provided keyword does not match any available keywords then no response would be received.

I tried initiating a request by sending an SMS but got an error. What do I do?Please try again as per the error message provided. To get more information about the format of the request SMS only the keyword to 52777. To know all the services available on SMS apps, Type APPS and SMS to 52777. If no relevant information is available in error message call Aircel Customer Care for assistance.

Charging for SMS Apps

Under which header in the bill will the charges of SMS apps request would appear?Your charges pertaining to such SMS would be under the SMS usage charge section of your itemized bill.

Would I be charged for the response received?No, the customer would only be charged for request SMS and not the response SMS.

Would I be charged differently if I use SMS Apps while on roaming?Yes, the SMS charge at roaming would change as per the prevailing roaming rates.

Would I be charged for response SMS while on roaming?No, the charges would be applicable only for request SM S and response SMS would not be charged.

Would I be charged for the request SMS if an error message is received in the response?Yes, for any SMS request received successfully, the customer would be charged for it, even if the error message was generated or required response message was not received.

How can I find details of SMS apps on PocketApps?Access PocketApps portal using Mobile browser (you require GPRS and WAP connectivity) and go to SMS apps from the list of applications. Otherwise, search for SMS apps on PocketApps.

How can I search for SMS Apps I need if PocketApps is not available on my handset?SMS APPS to 52777. The mobile user would get the list of SMS applications along with the unique keywords.
